The heart city of Bhopal also contains a great and proudful history . Although that is a another thing that most of the time , it was ruled by Muslims or Nawab . But they also gave their great role in the development of the city and the local people . This city was found in 11th century by king Bhoja . But some archeologists says that the city is named for the another king named by Bhupala . Before , Bhopal was a small village but Dost Mohammad Khan , a soldier of Mughal army established it as a modern city . Besides from 1819 to 1926 , after signing on the contract of British East India Company this city was completely ruled by women till a complete century . So this is also an amazing fact about the city and makes it special . When the whole India was about to be independent in 1947 , the Bhopal was still being ruled by the Nawabs . And finally in July 1949 , it was included in India . But before , it was a separate city from the entire country . So this is a little and brief information of the history of the country .

And if we talk about present , Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan is the chief minister of Bhopal . Now Bhopal is being ruled by the chief minister and the Pm of India properly . But anyway , an interesting history .

3. Bhopal gas tragedy case study

This is one of the most terrible industrial disasters that will always make the human remain that he himself is the reason of his downfall . So it's just a summary of all the story of Bhopal gas tragedy case study . If tell in short , this accident is the fruit of mismanagement and carelessness in the pesticide producer factory . There was no safety for the workers in this .  It doesn't matter that are all the workers and labors safe or not but the production must always be continuously . There was a large use of MIC in the process to make pesticide and MIC is one of the most dangerous chemicals known to man . This MIC reacts violently with water and there was a stock of more than 42 ton MIC and this was the root of the accident . This MIC was like a bomb in middle of the city that could blast anytime and ne day it actually blasted . Due to mismanagement , one night the water started entering in the MIC tank and the reaction started violently . Because of so much pressure , finally the tank blasted and all the MIC gas spread everywhere in the air . Suddenly all the people of the city started coughing and their skin was burning , Eyes were being white and some of them died on the occasion but the rest ones started running far from the city but the gas caught them and affected them badly . According to some surveys , 3787  people died in the accident but the locals claims that the number of the dying was more than 16,000 . But the people who survived in the accident , their DNA was badly affected by the gas and that got proved as a reason of the increasing number of birth of disabled children . Even today , disabled children are born there . The result of the disaster is still being payed by the innocent ones . For knowing the full information about the disaster , keep reading : Bhopal gas tragedy case study .

4. Reason of the disaster

So as you have knew that the reason of the disaster was mismanagement and greed . But now I am gonna explain you about every single factor of the accident .
so in 1969 , a pesticide making company established by Indian Union of Carbide Limited in the capital of Madhya Pradesh : Bhopal . With establishment of the factory , all the people of Bhopal be very happy because there was a hardcore need of job in the Bhopal at that time . People were literally very excited for working in the factory , they just know that they would be payed and this work is a little dangerous but they ignored this . But in the company , there was both greed and mismanagement . There was no safety for the workers and some of the equipment were never installed . There was all the priority provided to the regular and non stop production . So basically the company used to make MIC ( Methyl Isocyanate ) that is used in production of pesticide . But it's ok to do so in a limit . But for the non stop production of pesticide they stored more than 42 ton MIC in the factory even knowing that how harmful this MIC is for the workers and city . This tank was like a bomb in the middle of the city and  one day it had to blast . MIC reacts violently with the water . At 12:00 AM of the night of 2nd December , 1984 , the water started entering the tank of MIC because of mismanagement and carelessness and nobody could stop this . A uncontrollable chemical reaction started happening and there was a very much pressure in the tank and because of this pressure , the tank blasted and all the MIC escaped in the air . Within 1 hour , his MIC spread into the radius of 8 km . After that .......

5. The Mechanism of the disaster

After that , all the people of the area started coughing and the blood was flowing to their mouth , their eyes were going white in a few seconds . Every member of the family was randomly coughing and that's all . Some of the people died on the spot and the rest ones started running far from the plant and the city but they were caught by the gas and got affected badly . After 2-3 hours some people started bathing in the pond situated near the plant so that they can get a relief from the burning skin because of the gas but what did they know that the gas also reacted with the water sources and turned them into poison . So by the morning , there was a large pile of dead bodies in the pond .  Even the sun of the next morning also would be saying that what happened with the people of Bhopal . The people of Bhopal lost their everything within one night literally everything . After some days , the situations were more miserable . The gas had broken their DNA and all the new born children were disable by any of body part . On this people were saying that the ones who died in that night were lucky because they did not had to bear this kind of pain and the one who survived was indirectly died . After government did some surveys for Bhopal gas tragedy case study .

6. Effect on people

I know that after reading till here , there is no need to explain it but I am about to explain it more simply with statistics . According to a survey , 3973 people were died in  the next 72 hours of the disaster but the locals claim that the number of dying ones was above 16,000 . Anyway , this is the number of direct deaths caused by the disaster but the actual effect of the gas was still remaining and that was the disability of future generation . The Gas had broken the structure of the DNA of people who came in the reach of the gas and almost 5,20,000 people were effected by the gas and now you can suppose that how many disabled children had born in Bhopal and even will born . This is left as a wound on the development of the city . The money that should be invested in the development of city and people is now and for 24 years being invested on the health and effort to save those disabled children . This make very sensitive and emotional to the Bhopal gas tragedy case study . But government and the owner of the company tried to help the people of Bhopal . We all know that the accident can not be undo but efforts are in our hands and it's our duty to do so .
The factory is still deserted with the rusted iron . But only few handpupms or tubewell of Bhopal provides clean water and the rest has still that toxic water effected by the gas . This water looks very clean but it is like a poison : useless forever .

7. Help by government and owner

After the disaster , the owner of the factory : Warren Anderson gave $470 million to the Indian government means 700 crore rupees of that time . But the question is that is this 700 crore enough for repairing the DNA of the citizens and the answer is absolutely no . No money can decrease the defect of disaster . this disaster only gave a bunch of disability and diseases .
And all the reason of the accident is greed . Greed is always harmful for the men .
I also would like to give a happy ending to the story but I do not have any happy ending . Truth will always be truth and it is a very toxic truth for all the nation .
